On 10 August 2020, the Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Melissa Price MP, announced that the submission process has now opened for inclusion in the 2021 Australian Defence Sales Catalogue.
The Minister’s announcement can be viewed https://www.minister.defence.gov.au/minister/melissa-price/media-releases/2021-australian-defence-sales-catalogue-submissions-now-open .
The submission period, which has opened approximately 6 weeks earlier than in past years, will remain open for a full two months, closing 2359 (1159pm) AEST 27 September 2020.
The Federal Government will advise applicants of the outcome by end of January 2021.
Details for the 2021 submission process can be found on the Australian Military Sales webpage at:
In 2019, 114 companies from all states and territories were featured in the Catalogue. In 2020 this grew to 170 companies (11 being Territory companies), with an increase from every jurisdiction across the country.
We are again anticipating an increase in applications and whilst space will be limited, we will be looking to include as many qualifying companies as possible in the 2021 edition.
The application process has also been simplified so that any companies re-applying now need only click on a ‘reassess 2020 catalogue application should they have no content changes from the previous year.
For 2021, we are also now working on a free App (Android and Apple) available for download for all, not just the foreign embassies, overseas Austrade BDMs and Australian defence attaches. You too will be able to download it. The content will be Unclassified (like the hard copy version of the Catalogue and the online PDF) and will have enhanced features including state by state, capability by capability.
We therefore strongly encourage you to consider placing in a submission for the 2021 Catalogue and direct any enquiries to myself or: email@example.com
Space in the 2021 Catalogue will again be limited and late applications will not be accepted.
