Tuesday, September 29, 2020 1:01 PM | Jack Cameron (Administrator)

Dear Members,

The Navy will be convening a MEWG virtual conference 1100-1400 (AEST) on Tuesday, 06 October 2020.

The Chief of Navy will be presenting the opening address and will also officially launch the Robotics and Autonomous Systems and Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2040. This is a fabulous opportunity to engage with Navy capability representatives, particularly in light of the recent release of 2020 Defence Strategic Update and 2020 Force Structure Plan.

The MEWG virtual conference agenda is shown below, and there will be an opportunity for engagement with the presenters in the form of an electronic Question & Answer (Q&A) session which will be moderated during the conference.  Also, as part of the registration process, you can submit a question for the panel discussion. I encourage you to do so as that would give us better insight into what matters to you.

Please register here. Registration closes on 1 October 2020.

Speakers include:

  • VADM Michael Noonan, AO, Chief of Navy
  • Ms Sheryl Lutz, MEWG Defence Co-chair and First Assistant Secretary Ships
  • Ms Amanda Holt, MEWG Industry Co-chair
  • Ms Audra McCarthy, MEWG Industry Co-chair
  • RADM Pete Quinn,  MEWG Defence Co-chair and Head Navy Capability
  • CAPT Peter Armitage, Representing Director General Surface Combatants and Aviation
  • CDRE Tom Phillips, Director General Submarines
  • CDRE John Stavridis, Director General Littoral

The AIDN Team
