ALERT 7- Qantas Group update on Coronavirus response
The latest information is published on Qantas and Jetstar websites and a summary is below.
Here are some useful websites to keep updated and assist with providing more detail:
In response to the global spread of the virus, we have made the decision to reduce capacity on selected international routes, full details of which can be found here.
These are short-term changes, with aircraft and flight frequencies being adjusted to better match current customer demand.
We know changes like this will be disruptive and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to your business. Where possible, we hope to be able to offer an alternative flight via Qantas or partner airline
and/or travel on another date.
Qantas or your Travel Agent will contact you over the coming weeks should any of your corporate travel be affected by these network changes.
Safety remains our first priority and we are implementing well-developed processes for managing unprecedented situations such as those being caused by COVID-19.
With regards to passenger and crew safety, we continue to take advice from the World Health Organisation and Australia’s Chief Medical Officer, working closely with other airlines and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to share industry information.
It is important to note that air travel remains one of the safest forms of transport. IATA advises that the overall risk of contracting a disease from an ill person onboard through cabin air is lower than in many other confined public spaces. Our aircraft contain hospital grade, high efficiency air filters designed to extract 99.999% of dust particles and airborne contaminants. These filters refresh cabin air every three to five minutes, providing cleaner air than found in other public spaces.
Aircraft cleaning includes disinfecting surfaces and fixtures in the cabin including tray tables and armrests and crew are trained with the latest hygiene protocols.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support and please reach out if you have any further queries.
